As I write this, billions of people are under a lockdown.
Can’t go outside, except to buy food and other essentials.
Add to that, the unpleasant news of death, job loss, and the looming economic downfall.
With all the gloom and doom, it can be hard to hope for a better tomorrow.
In such a situation, where does one go to find a little bit of peace and solace?
Well, there is such a place.
A place that cannot be locked down.
It has always been available to you, no matter what is happening in the world.
All it takes to go there, is your awareness.
The place is nowhere else, but within you.
That is what we call going inward.
But what does going inward really mean?
It means moving your focus from the outer world, and turning it onto what is happening within you.
This is important because we don’t always have control over what is happening around us, but we can have a hundred percent control of what is happening within us.
Going inward is an essential skill, that can go a long way in helping you take charge of your life.
It will give you an opportunity to take command of your life, irrespective of what is happening in the outer world.
Just like now, with the pandemic, majority of the people will find it difficult to cope with the situation, but the few who have learned the art of going inward, will be able to fair much better.
Fear, uncertainty, and hopelessness are some of the emotions that are dominating most of humanity right now.
By going inward, you can see if these emotions are dominating you, and if that is the case, you can start to distance yourself from them.
Simply because they are just emotions, and do not define you.
These dark emotions were created at an unconscious level. By bringing the light of awareness on them, you can release them, and doing so, will help you feel more at home.
The material world with its many distractions keeps people from ever giving themselves a chance to go within.
The lockdown presents a perfect opportunity to go inward, and free yourself from the internal noise that is keeping you from experiencing your true self, that is always at peace, no matter what.
If you want a sure-fire way to benefit from the lockdown, go inward, and make meditation a daily habit.
